Romantic Basket Liner

This Linen embroidered basket liner has been featured in the Summer edition of Hazed magazine.

Directions:

Cut a 35cm piece of linen fabric and transfer the stitchery motif onto one corner. Download Heart full of Kisses stitchery design.

Using two strands of DMC threads stitch as detailed below:

                      Stitches Used                         Colour

Leaves             Chain stitch and back stitch      Green

Small heart        Satin Stitch                            Red

Flower              Chain stitch with French knot     Pink and Yellow 

Heart outline      Back stitch                             Red

Heart inner        Cross Stitch                            Pink

Birds                 Back stitch                             Brown

Ribbon               Back stitch                             Pink

Cut a piece of coordinating cotton fabric the same size and pin the two together. I then bound the two pieces of fabric together using pre-made bias binding.

It's really simple. All you need now are a few Hersey Kisses, and some crusty bread or home baked scones.

I have also had a lot of fun dying vintage lace doilies like the pink one in the photo. Why not give that a go too.
